Will STM ask me for missing values

For manual template creation, users can enter field values directly into the template . This does not modify the underlying template. Currently, there is no dedicated entry screen for specifying these field values.

Automatic template creation requires that all necessary values are predefined in the template to be created.

Templates can not specify child of children

STM issue templates can specify one level of issues to create.

You can specify cascading templates to create a second level if all of the children will be identical.

With automatic template creation, you can generate additional issue levels by defining other templates to be created automatically. For example, a template with two issues labeled L1 and L2 can trigger the creation of different templates when issues with labels L1 and L2 are created.

Creating sub-tasks in a different project

Jira will not allow sub-tasks to be created in a different project than the parent issue.
