The aim of this documentation is to cover all of the relevant information about the Data Security & Privacy Statement of Redmoon Software Ltd. to help our customer see clearly what we do and what we really don’t with their data.
1. Introduction
This Privacy Policy describes the data practices of the Comment Security Default Chrome Extension (“the Extension”). Our primary objective is to assist users in managing Jira comment security levels without compromising user privacy. We operate under a Zero-Data Collection model.
2. No Data Collection or Storage
The Extension does not collect, handle, or store any personal or sensitive user data.
- No Local Storage: No information, including security configurations, URLs, or user preferences, is stored in the browser’s local storage or indexedDB.
- No External Transmission: No data is transmitted from the Extension to the developer or any third-party servers.
- No Logging: We do not track usage, IP addresses, or browsing history.
3. Integration with Jira Cloud
The Extension functions as a bridge between the Comment Security Default Jira Cloud App and the Jira user interface:
- Mechanism: The Extension listens for a postMessage event originating exclusively from the licensed “Comment Security Default” app within your Jira instance.
- Functionality: Upon receiving this message, the Extension sets the security level of the comment field and applies optional visual styling (such as border and background colors).
- Data Residency: All configuration data, including security level selections and UI preferences, is stored within your Jira Cloud environment. The Extension merely executes these configurations in real-time within the active browser tab.
4. Authentication and Permissions
- Authentication: The Extension does not require a separate login. It functions only when a user is already authenticated and logged into their Jira instance.
- Permissions: The Extension requests host permissions for Jira domains to facilitate the UI modifications described above. These permissions are used strictly for these user-facing features and are not used to “scrape” or read content for any other purpose.
5. Third-Party Services
The Extension does not use third-party analytics, tracking pixels, or advertising frameworks. It operates as a private tool within the user’s existing professional workflow on Jira.
6. Compliance with Google Chrome Web Store Policies
The Extension adheres to the Chrome Web Store User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements. We ensure that our use of browser permissions is minimal and directly related to the core functionality of managing Jira comment security.
